ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN

Required equipment

ET is installed on a laptop and is connected to the "1714400" communication box that is connected to the diagnostic port fitted on board the machine or industrial engine.

Its main role is to assist the trouble shooter technician or engineer to identify various failures with its "fault” codes loaded into the memories of on-board electronic equipment.

It’s main purpose is to inform the technician on the serviceability of the machine by means of software program menus. Data entered in the control panel memory can be sampled and stored.

Those data can be analysed and printed to program machine downtime to optimise your equipment’s availability factor. The many other functions available under ET can be consulted in your manual.

The ET manual will offer you operational guidance and answer your questions. Trouble shooters rely on the ET software.

To use ET the following additional equipment is needed:

• A laptop
• A communication box ref: 1714400.
• For use on industrial engines or road trucks, please contact your local agent or the J.A. technical service. DELMAS.
• For the M300 series of excavators and Challengers, respectively use cable ref: 1267877 and cable ref.: 1U9100 that connect directly between the laptop’s RS232 port and the machines’ diagnostic port. The 1714400 box will be unnecessary

Important: When you have installed ET software on your laptop, please contact our local agent or the J.A.Delmas technical department at Bordeaux (tel: 00.33.556.79.62.00 ) to obtain your licence n°.

The licence n° will be registered with CATERPILLAR. Without it E.T is inoperable.

Every time you want to connect to a machine, a dialog box will display warning you to register your licence.
