JOB DESCRIPTION
The vacant post is based in the Arlit - mine in NIGER, we are looking for a Site Manager as soon as possible. This job consists of:
Managing maintenance operations for the stock of on-site materials and the teams in order to provide the best range of available materials to meet our contractual obligations.
Liaising with the client's on-site representative.
More specifically, the site manager must:
1) Manage the Work Orders – Work in progress
2) Ensure that planning for maintenance and supplies is adequate (e.g. maintenance, ordering parts, forecasting component requirements)
3) Maintain regular communication with the client's on-site representative to ensure their satisfaction
4) Ensure follow-up of product improvements (service letters, guarantees)
5) Ensure that the machines are used correctly, in accordance with the manufacturers' specifications (monthly report) and find ways to improve productivity.
6) Attend production team meetings (maintenance schedule and work forecasts; understand the client's productivity priorities and be proactive in problem-solving, by scheduling preventive and programmed maintenance)
7) Produce a monthly safety report – Carry out risk assessments and produce evaluations when risks have been checked, identified and eliminated.
8) Manage and guide the teams. Ensure that they are suitably trained and that they respect safety procedures.
9) Constantly monitor the skills of the team members, by formal training or apprentice learning.
10) Use the best procedures in terms of quality of work (management control)
11) Ensure that the best techniques are used for management and ordering parts (communication, stock monitoring)
12) Control the financial aspects of the project
13) Have a good code of ethics, demonstrating the company's leadership values
Specific requirements:
Baccalaureate +2 years study – minimum of 5 to 10 years experience in the mining sector
- Very high level of adaptability to others and to other cultures
- English: intermediate level
- Mining environment
- Management-organisation-coordination
- Good client relations
- Knowledge of Africa would be an advantage
